Do What You Love to End ALZ
There’s a new name for what used to be called our Longest Day fundraising efforts. The ACBL is an inaugural partner in the “Do What You Love to End ALZ” campaign.
While the name has changed, our commitment remains the same — to raise funds and awareness for the care, support, and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association®. Your fundraising and donations
will play an important role in improving the lives of people living with Alzheimer's, their families, and caregivers.
Please plan on joining us for our Longest Day Bridge Game on Saturday June 20th and look for a letter soon outlining our other fundraising activities throughout the next few months.
Please visit our team webpage. From there, you can donate directly to our Unit 498 team, or start your own sub-team in order to reach your friends and family outside our bridge
universe.

Lesson and Bridge Game with Phil Abrahamson
We welcomed ABTA Teacher of the Year and Planet Bridge Coach Phil Abrahamson for an inspiring lesson and game on Saturday March 7th.

Thanks to Jeanne Urich, Rita Armstrong, and Eileen DiGiorgio for inviting Phil and players from throughout the area to what we hope will become a somewhat regular chance for newer players to learn
new tricks and play in a limited game. Forty players participated, with Vince Tornabene and Chuck Simmons finishing first N/S and Veena Damle and John Selin leading the E/W field. Thanks also
to Jenny for directing.
We look forward to our next newcomer/intermediate lesson and game in June. More information to come soon!

bidding and play of the hand.
All levels are welcome, but this program is especially geared towards newer players and partnerships who want to practice, as well as those who do not yet feel ready for a duplicate game.

199er Game Every Wednesday Morning at The Villa!
Since mid-March, Jenny’s Wednesday morning lesson and in-person game is geared towards players with fewer than 199 masterpoints. The lesson starts at 9:45 with the game starting at 10:15.
Play will typically go until 12:45. Changing the game to a 199er game allows Jenny to award more masterpoints, and the additional time accommodates 18 boards. More time, more fun!
