Hello, Unit 498 Members!
We hope you’ve had a wonderful summer and that you’re looking forward to more trips and more bridge this fall.
We’re getting excited about the Fall NABC to be held in San Francisco at the Marriott Marquis Hotel from November 27 to December 7. Please visit this link to start planning which activities and
events look right for you. There’s something for everyone from new players (even absolute beginners) through experts. We hope to see you there!

Locally, check out our events and games to get you started on your own Road to Nationals.
At our August Unit game, we recognized some significant achievements from the Summer NABC in Philadelphia.
Kai Eckert finished 16th out of 156 pairs with unlimited masterpoints in the NABC Open Plus Pairs, earning 23+ Platinum points.
Director Jenny Kuhn and
her husband Phil teamed with Chuck Riffle and Doug Grant to earn the runner-up spot in the 0-6000 Mini Spingold Knockout Tournament. As soon as that event was over, they partnered with another
mixed pair and won seventh place in the 10K Mixed Swiss.
Pete Goldsmith paired with Lucy Ballard in the
Thursday teams event. Not only did their team win their bracket that day, Pete earned 8.84 Gold points to earn his Life Master status! Congratulations, Pete!
One of the more impressive headlines from the NABC Daily bulletin read:
Bay Area siblings win Youth Pairs
Congratulations to brother and sister Jayson and Kate Lee on winning the Baron Barclay National Youth Pairs. We’re proud to know they’ve played alongside our members. Read the full
article and interview with them using this link: Youth Bridge
Update.
