Happy Holiday Season, Unit 498 Members!
What a fun, Halloween-themed game Jenny Kuhn hosted on Wednesday, October 29. The ACBL Centennial Instant Matchpoint game awarded gold, red, and black points to players who played 24
“historical” hands. Scores were based on how players did relative to experts who had played those hands in the past.
Sue Papilion and Janelle van Rensselaer and Debra Martinez and Carl Ebeling won the coveted Gold Masterpoint for each side. Other pairs scoring were Cliff Chernick and Doug Grant, Barbara Lewis
and Lauren Rosen, Pete Goldsmith and Anne Javer, Ginny Zapitz and Marie Horn, Genie and Jeff Reynolds, Michael Lieberman and Robert Falls, and Arline and Jim Van Ness.

Thanks to Jenny for hosting and to everyone who dressed up to get an early start on Halloween.

Lessons with Mark Sorenson
Mark Sorenson will continue his series of 1+ hour monthly bridge lessons and play, aimed at advancing players with fewer than 100 masterpoints. If you are interested, join him on the first
Tuesday of each month at 10:30 at the Villa. For a cost of $5, you’ll get lessons with pre-dealt hands, directed play and review, and handouts and notes to take home, along with coffee and
snacks. Stay to play in the 12:00 game afterwards! Topics scheduled for the next two months are:

be a short, 12-board game and should last an hour or so. After the game Mark will be available to answer questions about hands.
This is a great opportunity to experience live duplicate bridge. Please let us know if you are planning on staying for the 99er game. Note: We need at least 3 tables (12 people)
