May Unit Game
Our May Unit game was very nicely attended. Nine tables played in the open division. Arline and Jim Van Ness led the N/S field, with Gail Cameron and Lauren Rosen; Sue Papilion and
Janelle Van Rensselaer; and Wendy Benveniste and Debbie Weinstein also earning masterpoints. Andrew Straus and Fred Chasalow came out on top of the E/W side, followed by David Murray and
Raymond Ochoa; Phil Kuhn and Daniel Raider; Gloria Darke and Josephine Ventura; and Kit Morse and Pete Goldsmith.
The four tables in the 499er game saw some fun competition with Pamela Resser and Ron Morris coming out on top. Allan Abrams and Donna Jang and Marie Pattie and Helen Kishi also scored.
Swiss Teams Game
Our first Summer Swiss Series game on May 21st drew 24 players to the Villa. As we will do at the remaining games on June 25 and August 13, teams were assigned that night to balance the field
and introduce players to some new playing partners.
Finishing in first place was Leslie Braker’s team of Madhu Mehta, Doug Seifert, and Chuck Simmons. Second went to Eileen DiGiorgio’s team of Sue Galletta, Inna Brovman, and Cliff Chernick.
Nancy Zorfas captained her team of Gloria Halliday, Lauren Rosen, and Barbara Lewis to third.
Plan to join the fun for either or both of our remaining Summer Swiss Series games on Wednesday, June 25 and August 13. We do not have advance registrations for the games, but we encourage you
to arrive by 6:15 for the 6:30 start time.
Mentor / Mentee Game
Thanks to Kit Morse for organizing our Mentor/Mentee games. Our May game was held online on BBO with eight tables and many pairs earning masterpoints while learning from each other. On
the N/S side, Fred Chasalow and Janice O’Brien placed first, with Deborah Drysdale and Pamela Resser; Carl Ebeling and Julie Navid; and Pete Goldsmith and Carmen Keenan close behind. Pairs
sitting E/W saw Cliff Chernick and Vince Tournabene come out on top, followed by Jim Van Ness and Ken Hoeck; and Sue Papilion and Janice Carter.
Our next Mentor/Mentee game will be online on Thursday, June 26, 6:30 on BBO. Please contact Kit Morse with any questions: kitunit498@gmail.com
Have you visited the ACBL Clubhouse on BBO?
Playing in the ACBL's Clubhouse on BBO is a way to benefit our local clubs when you play online, because almost half of the entry fees are passed through. The Clubhouse offers games for
players at every masterpoint level, including free games for those under 20 masterpoints, throughout the day. Check them out on the ACBL Clubhouse tab on BBO!
