Hello, Unit 498 Members!
Thank you to everyone who made our Longest Day Unit Game on June 21st such a success!
Team Captain Fred Chasalow motivated us all and Co-chairs Barbara Lewis and Marie Pattie put tremendous energy towards the cause, uniting our bridge community in the fight against Alzheimer’s
disease. Sandra Tilch created a special space with decorations honoring the Longest Day campaign. Unit Game coordinators Leslie Braker and Eileen DiGiorgio managed the day perfectly and
fed everyone a delicious lunch. Kit Morse helped Director Jenny Kuhn get 66 players seated in the right spots to cap the day off with a great bridge game.

Sandra Tilch and Jenny Kuhn The lucky raffle winners
Bart Westcott from the Alzheimer’s Association presented us with a plaque honoring our past success as one of the top fundraising organizations, and encouraged us to continue our efforts to meet our
2025 fundraising goal of $40,000.

and Madhu Mehta and Molly Roff.
In the Open division, the top finishers N/S were Kathryn Barnard and Lucy Ballard, Jim and Arline Van Ness, Robert Ng and Barbara Shukov, and Patricia Wong and Joan Sullivan. On the E/W side,
Tom Reis and Brian Reis finished first, with Genie and Jeff Reynolds, Aster Wu and Bob Gleason, and Kit Morse and Cliff Chernick all earning masterpoints as well.

Swiss Teams Game
The bridge room was busy again on Wednesday, June 25th for the second game in our Summer Swiss Teams Series. Jenny Kuhn put together a balanced group of teams and provided summer-themed prizes
for the winners! First place amongst the nine teams went to Inna Brovman, Cliff Chernick, Chuck Riffle, and Doug Grant, with second place going to Kenneth Hui, Siuling Ku, Doug Seifert,
and Chuck Simmons.
Whether or not you’ve joined in one of the first two games, you’re heartily invited to the third one on August 13th at 6:30 at the Villa. Please come early with your partner and teams and
matchups will be decided that night. These games are great fun for everyone, and we’re working to improve the process to run them efficiently.
